I met with Cynthia Whitehair from Cowan this morning. Her class is very excited about coming to Burris to be the class for Andrew Clements. They are going to read 4 titles (Frindle, Janitor’s Boy, Report Card, and head of the Class) before the day of the taping. They are planning to do them as “book clubs.” I am going to go out to her class in February to model a book talk. After that, they are going to do some writing of book talks for the books they have read. It is uncertain at this time whether or not any will be video-taped. There is a student teacher at Cowan who could conceivably pilot any lessons that we come up with for any of the books.Laurie has shared the press release for this program. When the brochure arrives advertising the event, I will send it out to our PDS network. We now have a release form for any video-taping that includes kids. We can modify the form to match the days of the taping. Peggy
