Team Clements Meeting Nov. 14, 2007
1. Questions: There are many summaries available. Do you want the team to write one in their own words, or choose one that is available? Can we link to web sites that deal with our topics/themes such as Professor Garfield? When will our next meeting be? What needs to be completed by then? Did someone reply about what other books we should be focusing on?
2. We found activity ideas, a few complete lesson plans, but they were lower levels of Blooms and not necessarily tied to standards.
3. Chris: Landry News: Search for lesson plans on how to create a classroom newspaper – Chris and Peggy will do this.
5. Kelly: Lunch Money: Many lessons on comic book: Enchanted Learning- has ready made character and background.
Possible lesson plans centered around: Compromises: Resolving conflicts with authority figures and developing relationships with partners who are competitors, and also creative thinking.
6. School Story: themes: Write a series of lessons based on the steps needed to publish a written work. Parts of a story. Change just one element in the story and rewrite it.
7. Link Kelly’s lessons to Willie’s in regards to illustrations
8. Report Card: Possibly focus on writing editorials, opinion papers, and persuasive letters.
9. Search for lesson plans related to School Story: Willie and Lynette.
Look at Simon and Schuster and Scholastic.com web site for materials about each of our books to make sure we don’t duplicate what they have.

Should we consider another book other than Lunch Money due to the well covered lesson plans currently on the book?
